Stay Safe, Los Angeles

In the first days after the Covid-19 pandemic arrived in Los Angeles, in March, 2020, bars, restaurants, and movie theaters were immediately ordered to shut their doors for two weeks to "flatten the curve," to allow hospitals to keep up with the anticipated wave of illness, infection, and death anticipated to follow. Clear skies and crisp spring sunshine bathed unfathomably empty streets and theater marquees where films once scheduled to be shown were replaced with solemn, sober, anxious expressions of solidarity in the face of the great unknown ahead.
